Dedicated to Keeping Your Loved One Safe

COVID-19 Information

Haven Nursing Center’s top priority is the health and safety of our residents. During this COVID-19 pandemic we continue to be dedicated to keeping your loved ones safe. Our COVID-19 action plan has been formed under the guidance of The Center for Disease Control (CDC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH).

We are happy to still be accepting new residents into our nursing home amid this pandemic. The Households at Haven offer an intimate home like setting for your loved one. Our beautiful campus is comprised of 4 separate households. Each household consists of primarily private bedrooms. Because of this innovative concept we can better ensure that the proper social distancing recommended by the CDC is maintained.

For you and our residents

Staying Safe

  • Universal vaccination of all employees – in progress (implemented 8/11/2021)
  • Encouraging all residents to receive the COVID-19 vaccine
  • Limiting or restricting visitation based on outbreaks in the nursing home and our surrounding community
  • Screening residents, staff and visitors for symptoms
  • Testing staff and residents for COVID-19 based on current protocols established by the state health authorities
  • Postponing or carefully limiting communal activities including social distancing and other infection control precautions

COVID-19 Visitation Guidelines

Visiting Your Loved One

Outdoors

Our ability to schedule indoor visits is based upon the current status of COVID-19 infections among residents and staff. Indoor visits may be limited to certain households or areas of the building when there is a confirmed case(s) of COVID-19 among residents or staff. We are unable to schedule indoor visits to residents with confirmed COVID-19 or residents in quarantine.

Visiting Your Loved One

Indoors

Currently outdoor visitation is preferred even when the resident and visitor are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Outdoor visits generally pose a lower risk of transmission due to increased space and airflow. Therefore, visits will be scheduled outdoors whenever practicable.

Visiting Your Loved One

What to Expect

  • All visitors will be screened at the front entrance of nursing home for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 (e.g., temperature checks, questions about and observations of signs or symptoms).

  • Visitors with signs or symptoms of COVID-19 or those who have had close contact with someone with COVID-19 infection in the prior 14 days (regardless of the visitor’s vaccination status) will not be able to enter the building.

  • All visitors should practice good hand hygiene (use of alcohol-based hand rub is preferred).

  • All visitors must wear a face covering or mask (covering mouth and nose) and social distance at least 6 feet between persons.

  • The number of visitors per person and the number of visitors in the building at any one time may be limited.

  • The length of visits may be limited to a specified amount of time.

  • Visitor’s movement in the building will be limited to the specific room of the resident or designated visitation area.
